ABOUT ME
I’ve been a storyteller my entire life. Yes, I love to talk (and present!), but I love to write even more. As a professional communicator for more than 25 years, I love making the complicated clear, the convoluted direct, and the wandering words work.
While I have extensive experience in healthcare, I’m able to grasp diverse topics and write about practically anything using my research and interview skills. I’m especially delighted with the challenge of taking complicated and cumbersome stuff and turning it into writing that users can understand and act upon.
WHAT I DO
I listen. I ask thoughtful questions. I analyze. I write. I clarify.
I use my skills to craft feature stories, annual reports, website content, bios, video scripts, blog posts, newsletter content, technical instructions, and more.
WHAT I'VE DONE
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Magnam, consequatur quas ratione eaque praesentium eligendi voluptatum at harum mollitia rem veritatis accusantium pariatur.
WHAT THEY SAY
Karen's a gem. Her deep skills in making sense of content messes and communicating with plain language helped Slope to completely revamp our Help Library. We shifted from presenting dozens of disparate articles for different customer audiences to a focused, step-by-step guide for our key customer cohorts. Working with Karen is a real pleasure, too — she's warm, engaging, and made friends with absolutely everybody on the team.
I considered it a great disappointment that I could not take Karen with me when I changed careers and left UNOS, as I know I will not find another Karen (this is to say, someone who always produced exactly what I needed and was always a joy to collaborate with).

Karen collaborated effectively with a diverse team of UX designers, developers, analysts, and program management to ensure the client's voice was reflected well in the product.
